Kickstart Homes was established in 2019 by Christopher Constanti and Salih Taspinar who, after successful careers in the business world, found a commonality of outlook with one another which drove them to do something very different with their lives. They had both seen what homelessness had done to their communities and the corrosive nature of the causes that drove people onto the streets or the successive sofas of friends, and they felt drawn to do something. Kickstart Homes was built on the principle of offering the foundations of a brighter future for those who are, or are soon to be, homeless due to issues with mental health, financial difficulties or abuse. However, from the outset it was decided that this was going to be a very different service – one which not only offers accommodation and safeguarding, but also holistic support to put our residents on a path to independent living.
Today, our team includes those with over a decade’s experience in social care, all our support coordinators are at least level 2 in Health & Social Care, all staff are enhanced DBS certified, all our properties are HMO registered and we are regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies. We work with various London local authorities and charities who refer people to us, and we give every new resident time and space to take a breath, to feel safe and to start life anew.
